At Granville Station Dental, we welcome new patients to visit a Vancouver dentist that aims to make you feel comfortable and healthy, whatever your oral health care needs may be.

What Can I Expect During My First Visit?

Our standard of care is that all new patients have a complete oral exam (COE) at their first appointment.

During this appointment, you will have a comprehensive examination which includes an oral cancer screening, a full mouth series of x-rays, photos, and a thorough exam of your gums, teeth, bite and jaw.

Please be aware that no oral hygiene (cleaning) will be done during this appointment, but your hygienist will discuss your needs with you, and schedule all the necessary appointments.

The dentist will also talk to you about your treatment needs, and we will schedule what is required.

How long will my first appointment take?

Your first appointment will take approximately 90 minutes. This will allow us to introduce you to the team and conduct a thorough review. We then create a plan to meet your dental needs.

How do I pay for my dental work?

We accept payment in the form of cash, cheque, Debit, MasterCard and Visa.

Dental Insurance

We will happily assist you in submitting a claim to your insurance via Electronic Data Interchange that will result in a much faster receipt of payment to you from the insurance company — sometimes in a matter of days.

Meet Dr. Ken Phillips

Dr. Ken Phillips is a general dentist at RCDG. Originally from Montreal, he graduated from Dalhousie Dental School in 1987, eventually moving west. He founded the Royal Centre practice in 1990. Now, when he’s not cycling the highways and byways of the province, or studying the latest developments in dentistry, he can be found here in downtown Vancouver working Monday-Thursday with his long time staff.

Dr. Phillips has taken a particular interest in aesthetic and laser dentistry over the years, taking advanced training courses in a variety of areas. He has been mentored by oral surgeon Dr. Ken Blankstein, and now performs most of his own surgical extractions.
